I just finished a nice Monkey Fist with a 1.625" steel ball, and I want to weave a 1/2" x 6" copper-clad steel bar, as a handle, into the four strands coming out.

I have already made a four strand diamond on top of the fist. I'd like the bar to butt right up against the diamond.

Can anyone recommend a weave that would contain a rod like that.
    Here's a pic.

    Thanks,
    Kev

You could start a round sinnet and just make it around the bar. You can also tie a series of wall knots around it, which I personally prefer to the round sinnet.

You know, after I posted my first response, I thought about using a cobra as well. You could even spiral it around, DNA style, if you want.

Yeah its very comfortable to hold in your hand.

Also a round braid will work nicely.

Thanks guys. I think I'll give the cobra a try!

I'll post how it turns out.

    Thanks,
    Kev
