I've been making my arthritic fingers ache for some months now using mostly 550 sized cord. Now I'm wanting to try some 440 size to make some bracelets and key fobs and zipper pulls. I find the 550 to be a bit bulky and I'm not making survival stuff (I'd surely use 550 if I were). I don't see 440 offered for sale on most of the web sites. I did find one that sells 425 cord (whatever that is) and ordered some 50' lengths.

I'm also looking for smaller cord to use to wrap grips on walking sticks and other items. I like fine cord for this because I started knotting with twine many years ago. I would use cotton twine, sometimes dyed, then wrapped and lacquered. It made great hatchet handles and knife handles and stick grips; but I think using a polyester based cord might be better. I just don't know what to look for.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the best prices and the widest selection of different cord sizes and colors? I know; that's kinda like asking, "How long is piece of string?" but I didn't find much info using the search function here nor by using search engines on the Internet.

TIA

Michael's Crafts stores and also A.C.Moore Crafts stores sell 325 nylon paracord in addition to 550. It is available in both stores in the same colors that they carry for 550 cord. It is priced the same as 550 with more on the hank. It is coming from the same company that their 550 cord comes from and the 550 cord says Made in the USA - so likely the 325 cord is also made in the USA.

Thanks for the information. I'll have to check out our local Michael's.

I use the 325 cord for the side stitching on my baseball bracelet. The video that I learned the bracelet from used gutted 550 cord for the outside stitching, but I think the smaller cord just works and looks much better. Arm Human body Neck Body jewelry Gesture
I got the 325 cord at Hobby Lobby.
